When people are recommended dieting, they automatically frown at the idea. It really is not as bad as you think it is. You can still eat most of the foods and drink most of the things you love. Your drink and food intake is vital and is half the battle of conquering a better you. If you want to see positive results, you have to do the right things, and do them religiously. Otherwise, any advice you get from me or anywhere else, is completely worthless. This goes for all aspects of our lives as well. It has always been on you and your dedication.
When it comes to meat, my recommendation is to obviously stay away from fatty, greasy, or, fried portions. This can easily be solved by changing how you cook the meat. Grill the meat instead. When you go out to eat, do not feel bad or embarrassed to order the grilled chicken instead of the bacon cheeseburger with a side order of fries. Chicken is the leanest of all meats so I recommend eating that over pork or beef. That does not mean the pork and beef are bad for you, cause I would be lying if I said that, it is just that chicken is the most ideal for wanting to loss that extra weight you may have.
If meat is not your thing, seafood is even better! Fish is very high in protein and low in the bad carbohydrates. Unfortunately I do not like seafood, so I choose to eat grilled chicken instead. To be honest, since I have stopped eating fries and other greasy fried foods, I really have not missed them at all. After seeing the results of eating correctly I would be foolish to go back.
Obviously I am going to agree with what most parents teach their children and say that you need to try and eat as much vegetables and fruits that you can. I cannot stress that enough. So whether you eat vegetables or fruits separate, or combine them in a nice big salad, be sure to eat the correct amount. Do not cheat yourself. If you want to have a lighter meal, I suggest making a salad, and slicing some grilled meat and putting it in with the rest in order to get your protein and other key components.
Carbohydrates are big worry to most dieters. There are both good and bad carbs, you just need to know where to find the good ones. The good carbs come in food such as pasta. Whether it be lasagna or spaghetti. The carbs in those will affect our bodies in a positive manner. Mainly by supplying the energy we need to function throughout the day.
It does not matter how much you eat as long as your exercising more and eating the correct foods and drinking the right drinks.
Here is a list of the "Do Not's": 1.) Do not eat fried, greasy, or fatty meats. 2.) Do not drink or try to limit bad liquid intake such as alcohol, pop/soda, coffee, and energy drinks. 3.) Stay away from deserts the best you can. Unless you know or aware of their contents and have decided that they are not unhealthy. 4.) Finally, do not forget to award yourself for your hard work. Do not do it a lot but, when the time comes, feel free to satisfy those cravings you were missing. Just remember to get back on your routine and push yourself harder.
Foods that I am strongly against: Pizza, pizza is probably the worst food you can eat in my opinion. It is easy to make and tastes good, that is why I do not like it. We as human beings tend to go for things that are easier. Just cause they are easier does not mean that they are good for us. Especially with pizza. Fried Chicken, this is for obvious reasons. Potatoes, this because they are high in carbohydrates, and not the good carbs either. Baked potatoes are alright, but I try not to make it a habit. Bread, I am really careful and aware of what kind of bread I am eating. Bread is not all bad, but just be cautious. Deserts, such as cookies, cakes, chocolates, sweets, anything really high in sugar. Ice cream is not really that bad, as long as eaten in moderation and in small portions. This holds true for a lot of "do not's".
We just have to be conscience of what we take in, because our body is the only place we are guaranteed a place to live, so why not take care of it?
